Voxel Farm and How It Will Affect Crowfall

Voxel Farm is a technology all of us probably know of already are disliking that it is coming to Crowfall also. Fear not though because you will change your mind after you start the game... or reading this article.

Voxel Farm is a technology library that can create things and break stuff apart in real time and setting worlds and buildings in them more procedurally. If you are still clueless on what they exactly are they are basically blocks in Minecraft except bricks, and a lot smaller so you can see them. Bad example. Basically they are like the matter for the game in a way if you understand. You can't see them all the time but they are there.

Voxel Farm in Crowfall though increasingly enhances the fun during campaigns and in the Eternal Kingdoms for you and everyone else rather it be you burrowing into a castle or somebody using an explosion rune to ambush you and your friends in your castle. There are unlimited ways, heck I even bet that if you are fighting in a cemetery against hunger-infected undead and get thrown back the wall around the cemetery may just break from the impact.

Another way is how the worlds will be formed. With procedural world generation means that the game can do stuff automated which is algorithmically saving a lot of money for designers and artists to make all these different worlds and terrains. You can start a campaigns and it could have one continent, 2 continents and one island or 5 giant islands. Inside these places mountains, lakes, rivers, forests, deserts, valleys, canyons, caves, caverns, ravines, anything you can think of basically. All of this helps make the game more fun to play with your friends and make new friends.

If this doesn't increase your hype by being able to throw someone against a wall and it breaking (with some health decreased on your opponent) then what will? If you don't like it now then you surely will and if you do then go check out what other games use voxels while your waiting for Crowfall.
